Ginger

Ginger

I am a 3 yr old spayed female Wirehaired Vizsla. My owner has to give me up due to health issues in the family. I am submissive and will sometimes tinkle if I get too excited. I love to rub, play in the pool, explore, and my owner says I'm VERY smart. I get along with dogs, cats, and older kids. I come when I'm called and know the sit command.

Tucker

Tucker

I am a 2 1/2 yr old neutered male Wirehaired Vizsla. My owner has to give me up due to health issues in the family. I get along with dogs, cats, and kids. I love to run and play with other dogs and to play in the pool. I come when called and kinda know the sit command. I have some allergies so need to have special food and my ears cleaned regularly.

Maury

Maury

I'm a 3 yr old female vizsla/lab mix named Mauri. I have the coloring and single coat like a vizsla but it's a little longer than a vizsla's.  My owner had to give me up because his son's dogs were picking on me. Despite that, I still get along with dogs as well as kids. Cats are an unknown at this point. I am  SUPER sweet, loving, and  no food aggression. I tend to jump up when my foster mom gets home from work or when people come over but it's a "I'm happy to see you!" jump. I wasn't the best listener at first but I am getting better at that. I've had no accidents inside and am not a chewer. I love sleeping in the bed and prefer to lay curled up on the pillows. I'm not what you would describe as ‘overly hyper'.  Besides my very normal excitement of seeing someone come home , I'm calm and just follow my foster mom around like her other two dogs do. I am an observer- I study things, but don't get into things or getting on counters. I'm not a barker- I only bark when appropriate like if I hear something outside. I'll be at the rescue picnic if you'd like to meet me. Learn more about the rescue picnic

Vizslas available in other areas

Below are Vizslas in need from other areas. Please do not discount them because of age, needs or location. Where there is a will, there is a way! If you find that one of the dogs could fit into your lifestyle and heart, please inquire. There are many volunteers to help with driving. Pilots N Paws is also an option.

Max and Bane

Max and Bane

Max (red collar) and Bane (blue collar) are healthy, 11 year old male littermates. They behave like typical vizslas and have no idea that they are 11. Bane is slightly more of a velcro dog than Max and wants to sit on your lap - yes, all 60 lbs of him! Max doesn't want to be far from Bane and follows him around so they should be placed together. Both are loving dogs, are good with kids, other dogs, and have experience around cats. They have haven't been at their foster home for very long, but their foster mom reports that they know at least the sit and down commands.

Penny

Penny is a well behaved and sweet 8 yr old female. She loves being outside, protecting the yard and chasing birds and gophers. Penny is house-trained and gets along with other dogs, but does not have experience with cats. She can be stubborn when you try to move her when she's lying down or try to move her out of the kitchen, so she probably would do better in a home without young children.  She is still working on not jumping on people when she gets excited and barking at dogs she sees through the fence. She is playful and affectionate and would do well with someone who can give her undivided love and attention.
